CD 6: Both singular and plural present in a ZODIAC SIGN (5)
Synonym for singular = IS
Synonym for plural = ARE
IS + ARE = ARIES = ZODIAC SIGN    So Answer is ARIES

CD 7: Can I the cook become a RULER (5)
Synonym for cook = CHEF
CHEF + I = CHIEF = RULER   So Answer is CHIEF

CD 8: Fly above to cross a BRIDGE (7)
Synonym for above = OVER
OVER + Fly = FLYOVER = BRIDGE   So Answer is FLYOVER
